Defense of the Ancients and Valve, two names you wouldn't usually think of together, yet surprisingly Valve are indeed working on a Defense of the Ancients game, or so we're led to believe by a recent trademark filing.
Rumor started back in 2009 when Defense of the Ancients mod designer IceFrog was recruited by Valve to make a new game, though what that game was remained a mystery.
The recent trademark filing shows Valve Corporation have indeed got plans to create the game, or at least own some rights to it.
To add water to the already existing leak, Duke Nukem voice actor, Jon St. John, tweeted he had lent his voice to the game by IceFrog and Valve. Tweets which have since been removed.
Defense of the Ancients was originally a StarCraft custom map, later created for WarCraft III and now can be found in StarCraft II, it's one of the most popular custom maps available in all three games with a huge following.
Its certainly has an existing fan base which love the concept, it even spawned its own full blown game named Demigod which was created by Gas Powered Games.
Signs point to a PAX reveal next month but Valve are keeping quite about the game. If anything, we do know it'll most likely be a PC game since most Valve games are.
