That's the rumor going around the block at the moment. The Original DSi isn't even a year old so far, however, news is circulating that Nintendo will be increasing the screen size of its handheld to 4" instead of the DSi's 3.25".
While it's no lie that everyone would like a larger screen (so the saying "the bigger the better" goes) is it really required? Of course if Nintendo could pull off fitting all the other new features of the DSi such as the camera into the same size case then it would be a benefit, it does seem unlikely however that they would announce or even suggest a new 'upgraded' version of its popular handheld, especially before Christmas.
With the history of Nintendo's DS platform going from the DS to the DS Lite and now the DSi, it may certainly be possible that they are bringing another version out, sales figures however show that the platform is still going strong, regardless of its competitors.
Our word? While the rumor shouldn't be dismissed, it certainly strikes us as far too soon to be releasing yet another reiteration of its handheld gaming device. It may happen, but certainly not till next year at the very earliest. Of course, upon enquiring with Nintendo regarding the rumor, they were as usual - happy to say "We don't respond to rumors".
So we have the DS, the DS Lite and the DSi, any guesses as to what Nintendo would call a new improved version of the DSi? How about, DSiB, 'B' for bigger of course, sounds stupid... Let us know what you think in the comments.
