Dead Space: Extraction, Planet Cracker for XBLA/PSN?

dead_space_extraction_planet_cracker_for_xbla_psnDead Space 2 was announced a while back and confirmed by EA for release in 2011 earlier today, but Dead Space fans might not have to wait that long before they get their hands on more space fairing survival horror action.

According to a survey which was supposedly sent to Kotaku, Dead Space: Extraction seems to be in the planning phases for a "full HD" port over from the Nintendo Wii to both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Could these be the first Fallout: New Vegas details?

could_these_be_the_first_fallout_new_vegas_detailsAre these the first details of the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas? They are according to this poster. The details don't seem to over the top to be proved illegitimate but Bethesda themselves have given the usual "no comment" response to the proposed leak.

Fallout: New Vegas will be the sequel to Fallout 3 but as yet any details regarding the title have yet to be confirmed or denied by Bethesda, you can however bet your beans that it'll be big news when they do.

Has the PSP-4000 been confirmed by peripheral firm?

has_the_psp-4000_been_confirmed_by_peripheral_firmToday Sony sent out a press email about the recent surge of LittleBigPlanet merchandise available for purchase from various retailers, little did they know that they could have accidently confirmed the long rumoured PSP-4000.

The advertisement as you'll be able to see below clearly states that the various cases and stickers are compatible with the PSP-4000. It has been rumoured that the PSP-4000 model which was previously stated by analysts as something we would see in the future could be a version of the PSP Go with the added UMD facility which had been removed on the PSP Go model.

Could there be a new Duke Nukem in the works?

could_there_be_a_new_duke_nukem_in_the_worksSome of you may remember earlier this year, the long time development company 3D Realms, the creators of Duke Nukem, laid off the majority of its development team. After the fall of the mighty studio, artwork spread showing parts of the in-development-for-12-years Duke Nukem Forever which fans were hoping to be something of a second coming for the Duke Nukem franchise, after all, everyone loves some "shake it baby".

Since then, all hope faded of Duke Nukem Forever ever seeing the light of day, with the recession on, cutbacks here there and everywhere, Duke Nukem looked like it had died and gone forever, but now due to a Facebook page which was stumbled on, Duke Nukem may yet make a return.

Are Nintendo releasing a new Nintendo DSi?

are_nintendo_releasing_a_new_nintendo_dsiThat's the rumor going around the block at the moment. The Original DSi isn't even a year old so far, however, news is circulating that Nintendo will be increasing the screen size of its handheld to 4" instead of the DSi's 3.25".

While it's no lie that everyone would like a larger screen (so the saying "the bigger the better" goes) is it really required? Of course if Nintendo could pull off fitting all the other new features of the DSi such as the camera into the same size case then it would be a benefit, it does seem unlikely however that they would announce or even suggest a new 'upgraded' version of its popular handheld, especially before Christmas.

New top end 360 and PS3 to release soon?

new_top_end_360_and_ps3_to_release_soonWith the release of the 120GB PS3 slim and associated price drop plus the price drop of the 120GB Xbox 360 Elite, both Sony and Microsoft have made room for new top end machines.

We've seen evidence of a new 250GB Xbox 360 "Super Elite" in the works and it seems Sony is also getting in on the action, with FCC filings and now reports of a 250GB PS3 coming in the near future.

As far as pricing goes in Europe, the 250GB PS3 is expected to hit at £299/€350 (the previous 80GB price point), and bundled some of Sony's holiday big hitters, namely Uncharted 2 late October and Gran Turismo 5 later in Q4. The 250GB Xbox 360 is expected to hit at €280 and bundled with Forza Motorsport 3 and a second controller.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC Buster

call_of_duty_modern_warfare_2_dlc_buster

I have seen a lot of rumours floating around over the past few days about Modern Warfare 2 map packs. The game is not out for another two months, but we're already talking DLC.

Some are saying that the Xbox 360 version will be getting fully exclusive map packs. Others are saying the DLC is a timed exclusive but would be free on the 360 and pay-for on the PS3.

Both rumours are false.

PSP-4000 in the works?

psp-4000_in_the_works

Sony made it pretty clear when they announced the yet to be released PSP Go, that it was an addition to the PSP family and not a replacement of the PSP-3000. They have also reiterated their support for UMD and physical distribution, so it stands to reason they would be working on a true successor to the UMD wielding PSP-3000.

This little tidbit from alleged Sony insider "Super_secret" (who gave surprisingly accurate details of the PS3 slim before the announcement), gives new hope for those looking for a updated UMD PSP:

"Who said the 3000 wasn't being phased out? It will be and sooner than you realise. However, the PSP Go isn't what's replacing it. The 4000 is. And yes, it will have a UMD drive. And similar to the PS3 slim, it's nothing to actually get excited about."
