It's been an interesting week for Natal - firstly the system has been downgraded from having an internal co-processor to relying on the main 360 chipset, secondly, developers have said that the limitations of the device concern them.

So today Nintendo announced a Hi-Def iteration of the DS. I'm not sure I understand this. Hi-Def is currently either 720p or 1080p, why would you ever need that sort of resolution on a handheld device with a screen that's a few inches across?

One of my new years resolutions is to only buy one game a month. Generous enough, normally I'd agree, but looking across the releases from January to March there's so many good games that I foresee a number of awful choices ahead.

Of all the games I've played this year, Mini Ninjas is the one game I think deserves better than languishing in game store sales... cold, unloved and probably sneered at by gamers looking for more 'cool appeal'.

God of War. Easily one of the best-loved PlayStation franchises there is. The first game caused controversy after David Jaffe claimed the game would beat the Japanese in a genre they'd pretty much invented and controlled.

Each month we get a shitstorm of NPD figures. X beat Y, and Z sold more, you get the picture. This is followed by press releases, each gloating about a manipulated statistic, or a vague statement about why their platform actually won.
