When Prison Break first hit out television sets it was a show unlike any other currently out, it was new, refreshing, and best of all, an extremely entertaining show. While the three seasons that followed tried to keep the same spark that made the show famous, they never accumulated the same success or fans admiration as the first season did. Prison Break: The Conspiracy takes place during this first season of the show, yet this time the lead character isn't Michael Scofield, the game centres around an agent known as Tom Paxton from the infamous "Company".
As Agent Tom Paxton you're sent into the Fox River State Penitentiary to investigate Michael Scofield and find out why a structural engineer with no previous convictions performed a bank robbery without any known motivation. Fans of the show will already know how the story pans out from the TV show itself - but the same people who wrote the TV show are also writing the games script so it should deliver the same high calibre story that made the first season so great while delving deeper into the prison life surrounding the two brothers and their attempt to escape.
Your time in Fox River State Penitentiary isn't just set around investigating Michael Scofield however, the developers have said there will be plenty of varying gameplay elements to keep players engaged within the gameplay, these include; quick-time events, stealth action with multiple solutions, and a fight club set underground which lets you pit yourself against some of the prisons more well known characters such as T-Bag. Entering into the fight club isn't just about fighting though, as you take on tougher inmates and win you'll earn currency which can be used to purchase new tattoos for your character, it's unclear what exactly these will do, whether it be additional bonuses to stats or more for loyalty from various other inmates, but no doubt the fight club itself will be woven into the plot in one form or another.
The game will include all the main characters you saw throughout season one of the show and the majority will be voiced by their respective actors like Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. As you can see by the screenshots, the characters themselves look almost identical to their TV counterparts which give testament to the games graphics and what we can come to expect from the full game upon release.
Prison Break: The Conspiracy is set for release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in 2010.
