Batman: Arkham City launch dates confirmed

batman_arkham_city_launch_dates_confirmedWarner Bros, publishers behind the upcoming Batman: Arkham City game, have finally given the title a release date for both the US and UK territories. Arkham City is due this October on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City has Warner Bros handling the game's publishing duties; Square Enix published Arkham Asylum.

Taking place about one year after Arkham Asylum, Quincy Sharp, the former warden of Arkham Asylum, has taken the credit for stopping the Joker and used this to become mayor of Gotham City. With the city's prisons filling up, Sharp purchases a large portion of Gotham City's slums and creates Arkham City; a place where prisoners can rein free as long as they do not escape.

Harley Quinn and Joker will return for Arkham City, with Mark Hamill reprising his voice work for the Joker. Huge Strange and Two-Face are two new villains Batman will face-off against.

Check out the game's website here to find a bucket load more information.

Batman: Arkham City releases on October 18 in the US and October 21 in the UK on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
