Square Enix has confirmed today that the latest game in the Deux Ex series, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, will release on august 26 in the UK. The company said last week that the release date announcement was imminent.
Set as a prequel, Human Revolution is set 25 years before the first Deus Ex game, in the year 2027. The nanotechnological augmentations we saw in the first game have yet to be invented and biomechanical augmentations are currently at the forefront of technology.
The main protagonist, Adam Jensen is a private security officer with a company known as Sarif Industries who specializes in human augmentations. After Adam witnesses an attack on the company which leaves him horrifically injured and forced to undergo augmentation to survive, the game's conspiracy begins.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution releases on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this August. August 23 in the US and August 26 in the UK.
