Microsoft has confirmed today that it'll launch Gears of War 3 around the world on September 20. The company have also revealed new information on the weapons and maps, including the upcoming beta.
The news was announced by Xbox community boss Graeme Boyd, saying that Gears of War 3 would release around the world on September 20, while Japan would get it on September 22.
New weapons and maps were confirmed for the title as well. New maps named Trenches, Overpass, Mercy, Checkout and Thrashball will be included, while new weapons like the Bayonet Charge, Retro Lancer, Sawn-off Shotgun, the OneShot, Incendiary Grenade and Digger Launcher will be available to blast off the enemies many faces with.
Old weapons will also be tweaked, the Hammerburst and Classic Lancer specifically, and each weapon will include its own execution move.
News on the beta is that it'll start later this year and feedback will eventually find its way in to the main game.
Unlike Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 will support dedicated servers for online multiplayer matches, its predecessor used player hosting which never gave a level playing field for all concerned, dedicated servers should solve that.
There you have it, Gears of War 3 for September 20 on Xbox 360.
