kings_crusade_changes_name_with_two_new_expansionsParadox Interactive has announced today that Lionheart: Kings' Crusade' has been renamed to The Kings' Crusade and two new expansions are due to be released this year, Arabian Nights and Teutonic Knights.

According to Richard the Lionheart, the legendary warrior, he "just felt 'Richard The Lionheart' was a bit of a mouthful. I felt I wanted something a little snappier when the little people were addressing me. Therefore, from now on I shall be addressed simply as 'King'. It’s short, easy to remember, and sums me up perfectly!"

In addition to the name change, Paradox have announced two new expansions which are set for release this year. The first, Arabian Nights, is scheduled for February 8 and will focus on the Saracens. The second, Teutonic Knights, focuses on the Crusaders and has yet to be given a release date.

Released last year, The Kings' Crusade is a real-time strategy game set between the years 1189 and 1192, during the Third Crusade. You can read our review here.
