With a string of game announcements and reveals at the Video Game Awards today, next up is Prototype 2, which is currently in development by Radical and stars a new protagonist, Sgt. James Heller.
Sgt. James Heller's mission is to destroy the first game's main character, Alex Mercer, and is a direct sequel to the original.
The game has long been rumored and with a recent "Murder Your Maker" campaign teased around the internet, speculation grew that it was indeed a sequel to Prototype.
Prototype 2 is scheduled for release sometime in 2012, if the world doesn't end by then that is. No platforms yet, but it wouldn't be a surprise to find it on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, just like the original.
The first trailer was shown at the VGA's, which we'll have up once it releases.
