Double Fine have announced their latest game today, called Stacking, it is a third-person adventure puzzle game set in the 1930's where the characters are modeled around Russian stacking dolls that, as the name suggests, stack to solve puzzles.
The game's protagonist, Charlie Blackmore, is the smallest of the stacking people, it's his job to solve puzzles and get through the game, pretty standard affair then, or not. Charlie has the ability to jump into other stacking people and use their skills, since Charlie is the smallest stacker you can continually stack larger characters on top of him, however, you'll only be able to use the skills of the outermost character.
The stackable characters opens up a unique gameplay component where you have the option of solving puzzles by various means, using each character's ability in a specific way.
Not many details have been released other than the main concept, it is however heading to both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network in Spring 2011 and certainly one to watch out for.
