Square Enix has announced the European release date for their upcoming mind-war shooter, Mindjack. The European release date follows the previously announced North American date set for January 27, 2011.
The new third-person shooter is set in the year 2031, where Jim Corbijn, a government agent, becomes involved in a clandestine war between various governments and coroporations. Jim uses technology to 'Mindjack' people and machines to control their actions within the world.
The game will also feature online multiplayer elements, with a co-operative campaign that changes the world and challenges players will encounter.
Square Enix have promised that the game will "blur the line between traditional single-player and multi-player gameplay, creating a campaign experience where non-playable characters can, at any moment, transform into human-controlled allies or gun-toting foes."
Mindjack releases on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Europe on January 21, 2011, North America will see it on January 27, 2011.
