gran_turismo_5_has_been_delayed_across_all_regionsIt's the news we've all not been waiting for, Gran Turismo 5 has been officially delayed across all regions Sony has said today. The "Real Driving Simulator" was due for release early November, just a few weeks away.

The announcement came through the US PlayStation Blog, saying: "We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd."

Further adding: "We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches."

No release date was given for the now delayed title, however, Sony have confirmed that the game would release this Holiday season and a new release date would be given at the end of the month.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe released their own statement, apologising for the delay.

"We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd, but the game will be released before Christmas," said SCEE.

"We sincerely apologise to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality."

"We are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches later this year. We'll have more information for you in the near future."

It's sad news indeed for many racing fans, we'll keep you updated on the proceedings, hopefully getting our hands on a new release date shortly, if not at the end of the month.
