new_nascar_game_inbound_activision_confirmsAre you a fan of cars going round in circles? If so you'll love this. Activision has today announced NASCAR The Game 2011, a new racing game in development by UK-based developer Eutechnyx.

The new title in the long line of NASCAR racing games allows you to play as either yourself, or any driver currently in the real world NASCAR driver line-up.

22 different tracks based around real world locations will be included, the cars will also be modeled off of their real world counter-parts. Damage wise they will be "meticulously detailed" with multiple car wrecks, making them "the most extreme ever experienced in an officially licensed racing game."

"It was crucial to take a fresh look at what makes the sport so popular," said Eutechnyx EVP, Ed Martin.

"We're working very closely with NASCAR, the drivers, the teams, the tracks and the sponsors to get all the minute details right, and give this game the polish and push the fans deserve."

David Oxford of Activision added, "the NASCAR video game fanbase has been underserved for a long time and we're bringing them something very special."

Multiplayer will be included with the title for up to 16 players, both online and off, throughout the game you'll earn NASCAR experience points which will unlock rewards such as new car designs, decals and sponsorships and special races.

It's due out next February for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.
