SEGA have officially announced Super Monkey Ball for Nintendo's 3DS today, the company also has five other games planned for the new handheld system with a release sometime next year.
Planned for a release before March 31, Super Monkey Ball is said to offer a "whole new level of interactivity and fun, whilst completely immersing you in the world of your favorite monkeys."
"The moment I saw the features of the Nintendo 3DS, I could not help thinking how perfectly Super Monkey Ball would work on this new hardware," said the Super Monkey Ball creator and developer Toshiro Nagoshi.
"I could quickly picture myself holding the Nintendo 3DS using the motion sensor and playing Super Monkey Ball. The simple gameplay allows players to enjoy the 3D graphics to the fullest and now that we have brought this vision to life...bingo! We have our all-time favorite Super Monkey Ball experience with the new excitement of the Nintendo 3DS."
Super Monkey Ball on the 3DS includes three new gameplay modes, single-player puzzles, Monkey Race, Monkey Fight and a wireless multiplayer mode with famed characters, AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon and Baby.
You'll also be able to choose between using the 3DS's motion sensor or the Slide Pad to control your monkey ball around the puzzles.
SEGA didn't give details on the five other games that would be heading to the handheld next year, however, we do know one is a Sonic title.
