It isn't Halloween, hell, it isn't even April Fools Day, what this is, is an announcement of Planet Michael, a multiplayer virtual world full of "innovative interactive gaming and social experiences that celebrate Michael Jackson's life".
To break it down simply, Planet Michael is an online massively multiplayer virtual world where players can battle it out on the streets, not with weapons or violence, but with dance moves.
It's the first in a "virtual reality universe of connected planets" that is linked to existing franchises.
Due for launch next year, the "immiersive virtual space" will be themed on visuals that are drawn from Michael's music, his life, and the global issues that concerned him, minus one particular issue we imagine hope.
At its core, Planet Michael is a massive social gaming experience that will allow everyone, from the hardcore fan to the novice, to connect and engage in collaborative in-game activities with people worldwide.
Entire continents will be created that will celebrate Michael's unique genius in a way that underscores his place as the greatest artist of all time. Michael's long-time fans will feel at home, as they find themselves in places that seem familiar and yet unknown at the same time, and new generations will discover and experience Michael's life in a way never before imagined.
The game will be a free-to-download world without any monthly subscription fees, however, it will feature a real world in-game economy which will allow players to take on "dozens of different occupations" and even donate to charitable causes in some cases.
There you have it, better start practicing that moon walk for the games release.
