ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection dated

ico_and_shadow_of_the_colossus_collection_datedSony has officially announced the HD remakes of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus at its Tokyo Game Show event today. The two games will be released together as a collection like the God of War remakes were.

It comes after months of rumors on whether the collection was indeed coming to the PlayStation 3, thankfully Fumito Ueda didn't disappoint fans hoping for HD remakes of both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, two games which were at the pinnacle of the PlayStation 2's era.

Both games have also been retrofitted for widescreen displays as well as 3D, Ueda confirmed.

ICO which will be included was confirmed as the European version and not the US one, since the European edition actually includes content not found in its US counterpart.

ICO was originally released back in 2002 on the PlayStation 2, Shadow of the Colossus followed later in 2006 on the same platform.

The collection will release in Spring next year, no exact date yet unfortunately but we'll let you know once it's announced.
