new_devil_may_cry_for_ps3_and_360_announcedCapcom's Tokyo Game Show event is under full swing and one of their big announcements is a new Devil May Cry game for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. More details inside.

A trailer was shown for the new DMC game which is said to "redefine the franchise," so says Capcom. It featured Dante in some sort of asylum before he spins and fires his dual pistols at an enemy. A robot then asks the question, "What is your name?", the name replies, "My name is Dante".

Supervising director, Hideaki Itsuno, was on stage with Antoniades to discuss the changes, saying that they would bring a "sense of cool" to the new game, while Capcom would bring the "DNA" of the series.

Capcom development boss, Keiji Inafune, declined to comment on a release date, saying it was too soon to talk about it, however, the platforms it will release on have been confirmed, both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Here's the story:

"Set against a contemporary backdrop, DMC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost."
