For a game that's been in and out of development more than a pie in an oven, and rumored about more than the latest celebrity couple, it's about time we got a definite Duke Nukem Forever answer, is it coming or not? "Holy ****" Yes it is!
Developers, Gearbox Software, confirmed the release of Duke Nukem Forever over on their Twitter page and showed off the game for the first time at PAX today.
It's about time the game was finally announced for release, with 3D Realms going bust back in 2009 and then sued by Take-Two Interactive, it didn't paint a bright future for the game. However, the rights were retained for Duke Nukem by Take-Two Interactive and rumors spread like wild fire last month that Gearbox had been put in charge of bringing Duke back to our screens.
Development boss, Randy Pitchford, was at PAX to reveal the news and show off the first official gameplay, he also confirmed that the title is heading to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next year.
In the movie that was shown to drooling fans, Duke Nukem was shown lighting a cigar before using the john and saying he'd still hit a monster with "tits". It went on to show the Alien Pig's and Vehicle combat along with Duke's famous bad language.
It's finally coming next year.
Hail to the king, baby!
