Hothead Games has confirmed the sequel to last month's DeathSpank release. DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue features new settings such as the North Pole and sea and is due for release next month.
The sequel, which was in development at the same time as the first game, has a more modern setting and is touted to be 50 percent longer, bringing the game's overconfident swordsman to new locations such as the sea and North Pole.
It will follow on from the original storyline, however, you don't need to have played the first to understand it.
Here's the plot:
A long time ago, nine mystical thongs were planned to bring balance and harmony to the universe, but when marketing got in the way, only six thongs were produced, and the result was disastrous. Granting great power to those who wear them, the thongs corrupted all those they touched--except DeathSpank. DeathSpank must find all six thongs and destroy them once and for all.
DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue launches on Xbox Live Arcade on September 22 and the PlayStation Network on September 21.
