As the main events at GamesCom 2010 draw to a close, each year a jury of judges award hardware and software the best of GamesCom. This year's awards have been announced, check them out inside.
The awards, which are announced on the stage of Hall 8, are given to "best of" across six categories. Those categories include Best of GamesCom, Hardware Accessory, Console Game, Mobile Game, Online Game, PC Game and Best of Family Entertainment.
Koelnmesse GmbH is the organizer of the GamesCom award 2010. The jury consists of six experts from the publishing and media sector:
- Michael Trier – Editor in Chief, IDG Entertainment Media AG.
- Petra Fröhlich – Editor in Chief PC Games, PC GAMES POWER PLAYER, PC ACTION, play3, PC Games MMORE, X3, N-ZONE, COMPUTEC Media AG.
- Christian Bigge – Editor in Chief Computerbild, Computerbild Online Dienstleistungs-GmbH.
- Harald Hesse – Editor in Chief, Gamesmarkt.
- Oliver Hartmann – Project Manager, spieletipps.de, Brot und Spiele GmbH.
- Bernhard Schneider – Central Multimedia Purchaser, Müller Ltd & Co. KG.
This year's awards go to:
- Best of GamesCom 2010: Gran Turismo 5.
- Best Hardware Accessory: PlayStation Move.
- Best PC Game: Crysis 2.
- Best Console Game: Gran Turismo 5.
- Best Mobile Game: Super Scribblenauts.
- Best Online Game: Guild Wars 2.
- Best of Family Entertainment: Kirby's Epic Yarn.
