You read correctly, Portal 2's release date has been announced by Valve for next year. Players will be able to start jumping through new portals in the sequel, come February 9, when the game releases on PC, Mac, 360 and PS3.
We previously reported that Portal 2 had been delayed into next year, yet Valve never locked down a specific release date, that is, until now.
Valve have also said that Richard Lord who voices the British robot in the "Meet Wheatley" trailer has been replaced by Stephen Merchant, a man you may better know from the Ricky Gervais Show. No word on why the replacement occured.
Come February 9 when Portal 2 releases on PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, we may very well find out again if the cake is a lie.
