THQ has announced today a new Nintendo Wii game and accessory, titled uDraw Studio and uDraw GameTablet, the two will let players draw and colour on the GameTablet to interact with the game.
The uDraw GameTablet is a new hardware device that provides a new way to play on Wii. It's a small white handheld graphics tablet with a 4" x 6" drawing space and detachable, pressure-sensitive stylus "designed to offer more subtle control and precision than available on the traditional Wii Remote."
The GameTablet allows the Wii Remote to plug into it, taking power directly from the controller and also has tilt-and-roll movement options and SD-card support for saving and transferring your creations.
"We've designed the uDraw GameTablet to offer something for everyone: the kids can doodle, save their creations on an SD-Card and print their artwork for display on the refrigerator. Students can improve their skills through in-game tutorial lessons. And the whole family can sit down together for family game time with products like Pictionary," added Executive Vice President, THQ Kids, Family, Casual Games and Global Online Services, Martin Good.
uDraw Studio is designed to showcase the features of the GameTablet through a "robust set of art creation modes and user-friendly tools that help players create anything from simple doodles to intricate masterpieces."
Two other games will be released along with the title as well, both Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure.
Pictionary is the classic family game with new features, some of which include rotating canvases, one-line challenges and other gameplay modes.
Dood's Big Adventure is an adventure game where players "navigate their customizable Dood" through 60 different levels across four gameplay modes. In it, colouring books will come to life and user-created pictures, characters, and background art will populate the landscape.
It's due for release this holiday season at a price of $69.99 for both uDraw Studio and uDraw GameTablet.
The Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure games are planned to release at the same time, both priced at $29.99.
No dates on other regions other than early 2011.
