Electronic Arts has confirmed that Need For Speed: Shift 2 is currently in development and is due for a release in the fourth quarter of the 2011 financial year. It was confirmed during the company's financial report.
It isn't the first time we've heard of the game, it was revealed by an ex EA employee as a project listed on his CV, only now however has the company confirmed the games existence.
No word on platforms it's due on, though the last was released on PC, 360, PS3, and PSP, so expect a similar line-up.
This could even possibly be shown at GamesCom later this month.
