Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced a video game tie-in for the upcoming comic-book-turned-film Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan.
The game is being developed by Double Helix and will release alongside the movie when it releases in Summer 2011, it stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan who uses the Green Lantern ring to battle enemies and generally save the world.
Details are fairly limited on the game so far, whether it'll follow the story of the movie or be a completely different entity is yet to be seen.
"Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books," said Samantha Ryan, Warner's SVP of production and development."The game is the first to center around DC Comics' Green Lantern franchise and we're excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay."
It's due out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. The console versions are being handled by Double Helix while the DS game is being done by Griptonite Games.
It's due in Summer 2011.
