blur_beta_gets_new_rank_cap_mode_and_carsActivision and Bizarre Creations have announced today that their recently released Blur beta on the Xbox 360 will get its rank cap increased from 10 to 15, and a bunch of new content.

The update also comes with a selection of new cars, a new game mode, and a batch of bug fixes. Here's the list:

Bug fixes: (find the whole lot here)

  • Bandwidth - Optimisations which reduce the amount of traffic being sent around the network, thus reducing any lag problems.
  • Stability - Fixes for rare 'Dirty Disc' errors and rare game crashes.
  • Connectivity - Prevent players trying to get into lobbies when they won't be able to see everybody, improving matchmaking times.
  • Disconnects - We now show more informative messages when players are disconnected from game sessions.
  • Host Migration - Fixed occasional random disconnects when migrating to a new host.
  • Split Lobbies - Reduced the frequency of 'split lobbies' which were occurring occasionally.

New content:

  • New Car: Corvette ZR1 (Class B)
  • New Car: Koenigsegg CCX-R (Class A)
  • New Mod: Iron Fist
  • New Mod: Last Gasp
  • New Challenge List: Demolition

The beta started on March 8 on Xbox Live and the game is set for release on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 starting on May 25 in the US and May 28 in the UK.
